Scope of Services 

The Department of Respiratory Medicine is equipped to deal with all respiratory tract related issues and  obesity related breathing issues. We offer tailor-made Therapy to our patients both on OP and IP basis.We also convene and collaborate with specialities like Radiology, Pathology, Microbiology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine to provide Holistic Care to our Patients.

Our Facilities Include 

  • Management of respiratory problems like Cough, Sputum,    Breathlessness, Wheeze, Hemoptysis.

  • Asthma & Allergy Clinic. 

  • COPD &Pulmonary Rehabilitation Clinic.

  • Management of Obstructive Sleep Apnea

  • Pulmonary Function Tests with Diffusion Lung Capacity(DLCO).

  • Government approved DOTS TB cells with Good Quality Treatment  for Tuberculosis including Drug Resistant Tuberculosis.

  • Fiber optic Bronchoscopy with FNAC / Biopsy / TBLB / BAL.

  • Pleural Procedures – Biopsy, Aspiration, Intercostal Tube Drainage.

  • Oxygen Therapy, Non- Invasive Ventilation and Aerosol Delivery Techniques for Chronic Respiratory Illness are available here. 

  • Thoracoscopy guided procedures including Adhesiolysis, Pleural Biopsy, Pleurodesis.

  • Fluoroscopy guided Bronchoscopic Lung Biopsy. 

Academics

Since the inception of the department , we have been actively involved both clinically and academically. We offer the following academic programs 

  1. Teaching programs including simulation method and clinics , journal clubs, seminars, short talks for the postgraduates. 

  2. We train undergraduates belonging to the 2nd and 3 rd year MBBS in clinical and theoretical respiratory medicine.

  3. We also conduct special teaching program for UG students and vertical integration

  4. We also train and handle Msc. Respiratory therapy and Bsc Respiratory therapy Allied health sciences (AHS) students. 

  5. We also take classes for BPT, Physician assistant, students.

  6. We also organise academically rich CME s and Workshops at our department frequently.

  7. Exams are conducted on a regular basis for the formative assessment of the undergraduates and the postgraduates.

Research Orientation 

  • Students are involved in research projects individually and mentored by a guide.

  • Students are encouraged to participate in various local/ national/international conferences and present posters and papers

  • Our research arena is quite busy with various ongoing studies on current topics of interest like covid, COPD, new medical technologies like FeNO undertaken by our doctors and postgraduates.

Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) 

We have signed a MoU with World Vision India regarding free of cost X-Rays for the  household contacts of  TB patients.
